The Tiger gets an upgrade! The Dell Latitude D530 series brings the latest hardware to the economical Tiger line. With prices starting under $1000, the Tiger D530's features include: up to a 2200 MHz Core 2 Duo processor, 15" LCD with X@1400x1050, 80-120 GB hard drive, up to 4 GB RAM, and DVD+/-RW. EmperorLinux Introduces the Raven X300

EmperorLinux introduces the Raven X300. This Raven is based on the recently released ThinkPad X300 by Lenovo. The Raven X300 offers exciting firsts from the ThinkPad line, including a 64 GB solid state hard drive. It offers a 13.3" LCD with 1440x900 resolution and an internal DVD+/-RW. The Raven X300 fits all of this into 3 pounds and a thickness of less than 1".

Raven X61 laptops and tablets will continue to be available.

EmperorLinux Rhino and Wasp Reviewed in Linux Journal

The December issue of Linux Journal contains LJ's 2007 laptop buying guide, which includes reviews of the EmperorLinux Rhino D820 and Wasp CF-19 rugged tablet. We received our September issues of Linux Journal today and were delighted to learn that the EmperorLinux Raven X60 tablet was named Linux Journal's ultimate Linux laptop. Linux Journal was particularly impressed by the Raven's ergonomics, our support for its tablet features, the biometric fingerprint scanner, and the EmperorLinux manual.

EmperorLinux Toucan and Raven Upgraded

The Toucan (ThinkPad T Series by Lenovo) and Raven tablet get an upgrade! The T61 and X61 series bring Intel's new Santa Rosa chipset to the Toucan and Raven tabet lines. Highlights include Core 2 Duo CPUs up to 2400 MHz, a faster front side bus, and full support for up to 4 GB RAM. The Toucan is now available with NVidia Quadro graphics, as well.

The Toucan T60 and Raven X60 tablet series will continue to be available for a limited time.

The Caiman ATG (Dell Latitude ATG series) and Koala D420 (Dell Latitude D420 series) are the first EmperorLinux laptops to take advantage of solid state drive (SSD) technology. What are the advantages of an SSD? It is higher performance (nearly 2x faster), more rugged, and lower power than traditional a hard drive.

This lets us offer the systems to you with only the Linux distribution of your choice installed and without requiring you to pay the "Windows tax." For those customers who need to operate in both Linux and Windows environments, we will continue to offer dual boot options on all our laptops.

EmperorLinux introduces the Caiman D620 ATG line of rugged laptops. The Caiman is based on the new Dell Latitude ATG series of laptops. The Caiman meets MIL-STD-810F for vibration, humidity, dust and altitude. The addition of onboard EVDO and GPS make the Caiman both tough and mobile. Like the rest of our Dell laptops, the Caiman is configurable.

EmperorLinux introduces the Raven X60 tablet, our first Core Duo tablet. This Raven is based on the recently released ThinkPad X60 tablet by Lenovo. As with the Raven X41 tablet, you get the full tablet experience in Linux: screen rotation, pressure sensitive pen, and text recognition.

Like the Raven laptop series, the Raven X60 tablet offers a 1.67-1.83 GHz Core Duo processor, up to 4 GB RAM, and an 80-100 GB hard drive, plus internal ethernet and WiFi. Traditional Raven X60 laptops are also available. Raven X41 tablet will be available for a limited time.
