  1. Aug 12th 2001 EmperorLinux Rhino Upgraded
    The Rhino (Dell Inspiron 8100) gets an upgrade! It now comes with an 1133 MHz Mobile Pentium processor and the NVIDIA GeForce 2 Go video chip. The rest of the specifications remain, as always, highly configurable.
  2. Jun 7th 2001 EmperorLinux Website Improvements
    www.EmperorLinux.com gets a face lift! (As you have probably noticed.) Each computer spec page now comes with a list of the accessories pertinent to that particular computer. Site navigation has been streamlined. Our FAQ Pages have been expanded, as well. At the same time, we made changes to our internal infrastructure to help us keep computers, accessories, and their prices and availability better up to date.
  3. May 31st 2001 EmperorLinux Mako Upgraded to FX2x0 Series
    EmperorLinux announces the addition of the Sony FX2x0 series to the Mako line. With the addition of these systems, the Mako line now ranges up to 1 GHz PIII with 512 MB RAM, 30 GB drives and 15"@1400x1050 LCDs. Like their predecessors, the Mako FX2x0 line has a combo CDRW/DVD and internal 10/100 ethernet.
  4. Apr 1st 2001 EmperorLinux BlackPerl Upgraded to R Series
    EmperorLinux announces the addition of the sleek Sony R series to the BlackPerl line.
  5. Mar 1st 2001 Linux Distribution Updates
    Starting in the beginning of March, EmperorLinux will support Red Hat 7.1 on most systems. Red Hat 6.2 will remain available to those who prefer it.
  6. Mar 1st 2001 EmperorLinux Chameleon Upgraded to XG500/700 Series
    EmperorLinux announces the expansion of the Sony XG series in the Chameleon line to include the XG500 and XG700.
  7. Mar 1st 2001 EmperorLinux Mako Upgraded to FX Series
    EmperorLinux announces the addition of the Sony FX series to the Mako line. The Mako FX adds a combo CDRW/DVD and internal 10/100 ethernet to the already powerful Mako systems. These systems range up to 850 MHz PIII with 512 MB RAM, 30 GB drives and 15"@1400x1050 LCDs.

  9. Jan 30th 2001 EmperorLinux Introduces the Rhino 8000
    EmperorLinux announces the Rhino series. The Rhino series are customizable, full-function, full-size notebooks equipped with Pentium IIIs, up to 512 MB RAM, and very nice, high-resolution displays. The Rhino has 1600x1200 resolution LCDs and is the first laptop with dual optical bays available; now you can have your DVD and your CDRW at the same time. This system is based on the Dell Inspiron 8000 series.
