  1. Dec 20th 2006 EmperorLinux Introduces the Raven X60 Tablet

    EmperorLinux introduces the Raven X60 tablet, our first Core Duo tablet. This Raven is based on the recently released ThinkPad X60 tablet by Lenovo. As with the Raven X41 tablet, you get the full tablet experience in Linux: screen rotation, pressure sensitive pen, and text recognition.

    Like the Raven laptop series, the Raven X60 tablet offers a 1.67-1.83 GHz Core Duo processor, up to 4 GB RAM, and an 80-100 GB hard drive, plus internal ethernet and WiFi. Traditional Raven X60 laptops are also available. Raven X41 tablets will be available for a limited time.

  2. Dec 13th 2006 EmperorLinux Tarantula Upgraded to CF-30 Series
    The Tarantula gets an upgrade! The Panasonic CF-30 series brings Intel's Core Duo processors and a touch screen to the Tarantula line. With construction that meets MIL-STD-810F and options including EVDO mobile broadband and onboard GPS, the Tarantula a tough, mobile workstation. The Tarantula CF-29 will remain available for a limited time.
  3. Oct 24th 2006 EmperorLinux Introduces the Scarab CF-51
    EmperorLinux introduces Panasonic's semi-ruggedized Toughbook 51 as the Scarab CF-51. Rugged features on the Scarab include a shock-mounted hard drive and full magnesium alloy case. They protect the Scarab's high-performance computing features, including a 15" LCD with X@1600x1200, 3D ATI graphics, and 1.67-2.0 GHz Core Duo processor.
  4. Oct 23rd 2006 EmperorLinux Sony Laptop Upgrades: Gazelle, Ibex, and SilverComet

    The Gazelle gets an upgrade! The Sony VAIO BX670 series brings Intel's new Core 2 Duo processors to the Gazelle line. This 8.6 pound portable workstation offers up to a 2.33 GHz Core 2 Duo processor, up to 320 GB storage on dual hard drives, and Sony's ultra-bright 17" LCD (X@1920x1200) with ATI 3D graphics. (A 6.8 pound version with a 15"/1280x800 screen is also available.)

    EmperorLinux introduces the Ibex, based on the Sony VAIO BX640, a lighter version of the Gazelle. Special features on this 5.7 pound laptop include up to a 2.33 GHz Core 2 Duo processor, a 15" LCD (X@1400x1050) with ATI 3D graphics, and a magnesium alloy case.

    The SilverComet gets an upgrade! The Sony VAIO SZ3x0 series brings Intel's new Core 2 Duo processors to the SilverComet line. This 4 pound, full-function laptop offers up to a 2.167 GHz Core 2 Duo processor, NVidia GeForce 3D graphics, and internal dual layer DVD+/-RW.

  5. Sep 5th 2006 EmperorLinux Laptops Upgraded to Core 2 Duo
    The Rhino M90 (Dell Precision M90 series), Toucan T60 (ThinkPad T60 series by Lenovo), and Raven X60 (ThinkPad X60 series by Lenovo) are the first EmperorLinux laptops to take advantage of Intel's new Core 2 Duo processor. Find out more about what it means to have a Core Duo or Core 2 Duo processor in your Linux laptop. We expect this technology to be introduced to our other model lines soon.
  6. Aug 18th 2006 EmperorLinux Introduces the Koala D420
    EmperorLinux introduces the Koala D420 line of ultra-portable laptop computers. The Koala is based on the new Dell Latitude D420 series of laptops. At only 3 pounds and less than 1" thick, the D420 is a joy to carry, while still making room for a 1200 MHz Core Duo processor, up to 80 GB hard drive, up to 1536 MB RAM, wireless ethernet, mobile broadband, and more. As with all our Dells, customization options are available. Dell is discontinuing their Latitude X1 series at this time.
  7. Aug 14th 2006 LinuxWorld Expo August 15-17
    Most of our EmperorLinux staff will be out of the office this week, taking part in the LinuxWorld Conference and Expo held in San Francisco's Moscone Center.   8. Aug 1st 2006 Raven X60s a Finalist in LinuxWorld Product Excellence Awards
    The EmperorLinux Raven X60s was named as a finalist in the Most Innovative Hardware Solution category for the LinuxWorld Conference & Expo Product Excellence Awards. We'll be in booth 1830 with a selection of our latest laptops, including the Raven X60s, from August 15-17, 2006.
  9. Jun 12th 2006 EmperorLinux Introduces the Wasp CF-18
    EmperorLinux introduces Panasonic's ruggedized Toughbook 18 as the Wasp CF-18. Like the larger Tarantula, the Wasp meets MIL-STD-810F. In its magnesium alloy case, the Wasp can stand one meter drops, vibration, thermal stresses, and dust and water intrusion. The Wasp is also a convertible tablet, offering features like handwriting recognition. Onboard EVDO and GPS make the Wasp a tough, mobile workstation.

    EmperorLinux will be exhibiting at Linux World Conference and Expo in San Francisco, CA at the Moscone Center from August 15-17, 2006. We'll be in booth 1830, and we'll have a wide variety of our Linux laptops and notebooks with us and ready to test.

    The SilverComet gets an upgrade! The Sony VAIO SZ series brings Intel's new Core Duo processors to the SilverComet line. This 4 pound, full-function laptop offers up to a 1.833 GHz Core Duo processor, 802.11b/g wireless, an 80 GB hard drive running at 5400 rpm, and internal dual layer DVD+/-RW.

    The Tiger gets an upgrade! The Dell Latitude D520 series brings Intel's new Core Duo processors to the Tiger line. The Tiger D510 will remain available for a limited time.
  13. May 9th 2006 EmperorLinux Kiwi Upgraded to TX7x0 Series
    The Kiwi (Sony VAIO TX Series) gets an upgrade to the TX7x0 series! At just under 3 pounds, this laptop offers a 1.2-1.3 GHz Pentium-M processor, 802.11b/g wireless, an 80 GB hard drive, and internal DVD+/-RW. The Kiwi continues to offer mobile broadband using its Cingular EDGE cellular data modem. (The TX6x0 series will continue to be available for a limited time.)

    The Toucan (ThinkPad T Series by Lenovo) gets an upgrade! The Toucan T60 will offer Intel's new Core Duo processor. Other highlights include: 1666-2166 MHz Core Duo processor, 40-100 GB hard drive, and up to 4 GB RAM.

    The Raven (ThinkPad X Series by Lenovo) gets an upgrade! The Raven X60 will offer Intel's new Core Duo processor in a portable 3.5 pound package. Other highlights include: 1666-1866 MHz Core Duo processor, 40-100 GB hard drive, and up to 2 GB RAM.

    The Raven X41 tablet will continue to bring tablet computing to Linux laptops. The Toucan T43 and Raven X41 will continue to be available for a limited time.

    The Rhino gets an upgrade! The Dell Latitude D820 and Precision Mobile Workstation M90 series bring Intel's new Core Duo processors to the Rhino line. Highlights include: a 1666-2166 MHz Core Duo processor, 40-100 GB hard drive, DVD+/-RW, and NVidia Quadro or ATI Radeon graphics on the Rhino's 15.4" screen with X@1920x1200.     The Gazelle (Sony VAIO BX Series) gets an upgrade to the BX5x0 series! This desktop replacement offers a 1.733-2.266 GHz Pentium-M processor, up to a 160 GB hard drive running at 5400 rpm, up to 2 GB RAM, and internal dual layer DVD+/-RW. The Gazelle continues to offer its incredible 17" WUXGA display, running X at 1920x1200.

    This year's demonstration systems will include the Raven X41 Tablet and the soon-to-debut Toucan T60 and Rhino D820/M90, our first Linux laptops with Intel Core Duo processors.
